Carer Support Service

The New England Carers Support Service provides counselling, support, information and advocacy to carers.  This might be for someone who is frail aged, has a disability, a mental illness or a chronic health condition. Our staff can assist you to find the help you need, source information and resources, or simply be available to talk.

It is important that carers have a regular break from their caring role. Some time to think about your own needs and to rejuvenate. This will help you stay healthy and able to care for your loved one for longer.

GoCo offer a number of options to help carers have a break. We focus on the person being cared for to make sure that their respite care is meaningful and enjoyable.

Some of the types of respite we offer are:

  • Individual respite
  • Centre-based activities (Gunnedah and Moree only)
  • Overnight community respite

The person that you care for may also be eligible to access our social groups, individual social support, or outings.
