GoCo has worked with the Hunter New England Local Health District to ensure Manilla residents still receive meals on wheels. This service was previously delivered by the Manilla Multi Purpose Service.

“We looked to GoCo to pick up the services, as we know they are a trusted and effective operator in the region” said Rose, Manager Manilla Multip Purpose Service

GoCo Executive Manager Bruce Mercer said it is a great opportunity to be able to grow and deliver these services in the smaller towns across the Tamworth Region.  We already run this service in Barraba and the Liverpool Plains Shire so it makes sense to adjust   that delivery model to suit the community of Manilla.

A morning tea and information session was recently hosted at the Manilla Multipurpose Service, inviting GoCo along to allow current recipients to voice their concerns with the transition and ask any key questions.

“It was important to provide peace of mind and assurance that this service will continue” said Mr Mercer.

The handover officially began 1 July with volunteers delivering meals to residents in Manilla.
