Gunnedah GoCo and Salvos launch Tea on Tempest

23 Mar, 2017

Gunnedah GoCo and The Salvation Army hosted their first Tea on Tempest event on Tuesday, with about 15 people attending.

The tea party will be held in the new Salvation Army building in Tempest Street on the third Tuesday of each month from 10.30am.

The morning tea event aims to provide a social outing that won’t “break the bank”.

Gunnedah Salvation Army Major Gaye Day said it was good to see a mix of younger and older people come along to the launch.

“I think it went well,” she said.

“It was just a good morning to create new friendships to have a chat, to find out what service agencies are in town.”

Major Day said the Salvos are keen for the new building to be a space for the community to come together.

A bus is available to transport people to and from the event. For more information, contact Major Day on 0407 034 604, follow GoCo on the Go Community Care on Facebook, or visit the GoCo office at 80 Marquis Street.
