COVID-19 update/roadmap from 11 October 21

10 Oct, 2021

From 11th October, NSW is opening up, with restrictions and freedoms being heavily reliant on vaccination status. Those who aren’t under stay at home orders, will  have additional restrictions if they are unvaccinated. A vaccinated person is someone who has received both doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccination, Astra Zeneca, Pfizer, or Moderna.

GoCo Updates

Gunnedah LGA is opening back up at 12.01am Monday 11th October, and will be under the same requirements as the rest of NSW, unless we receive additional information from the Department of Health.

Facilities: As GoCo facilities are considered high risk areas, no person will be allowed in our facilitates or vehicles unless they are fully vaccinated.

Groups: All group participants will be required to show evidence that they are fully vaccinated to attend.

Home visits: will only be attended by fully vaccinated GoCo staff members. Staff who are not fully vaccinated, will be required to work from home, if reasonably practicable.

Staff: Vaccinated staff who can do their job from home may continue to do so, however may attend the office if they wish.

Volunteers: Volunteers must be fully vaccinated to perform services.

All people wishing to enter a GoCo facility will need to show evidence that they are fully vaccinated.

Evidence of COVID vaccination

You’ll need to get your own digital certificate or immunisation history statement using either:

Once you’ve had all your required doses, you can add your COVID-19 digital certificate to your digital wallet.

If you’re not eligible for Medicare, you need an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) to get your proof online. You can get an IHI using the Individual Healthcare Identifiers service (IHI service) through myGov.

Not online?

If you can’t get proof online, your vaccination provider can print your immunisation history statement for you.

You can also call the Australian Immunisation Register and ask us to send your immunisation history statement or COVID-19 digital certificate to you. It can take up to 14 days for your statement or certificate to arrive in the post.

Face coverings

Masks indoors are still mandatory and must be worn so that it covers the person’s nose and mouth. Anyone removing a mask for one of these reasons should maintain 1.5m distance from others wherever possible.

Masks must be worn at all times:

  • while in our offices.
  • during GoCo transport services
  • during home visits

A staff member or visitor may remove their mask under the following conditions:

  • while communicating with another person who is deaf or hard of hearing
  • if wearing a mask creates a risk to health and safety
  • where clear enunciation or visibility of your mouth is essential
  • when eating or drinking
  • during attendance at GoCo aged care social groups in our venues, provided the attendee signs in and out of the venue electronically

If a person has a medical exemption from wearing a mask, evidence must be sighted before the person is allowed into the building.  Evidence of medical exemption to masking wearing must be in the form of:

(a) a medical certificate or other written evidence signed by a registered health practitioner or a registered NDIS provider, or

(b) a statutory declaration by the person.

The evidence must state:

(i) that the person has the illness, condition or disability, and

(ii) the illness, condition or disability makes wearing a fitted face covering unsuitable, and

(iii) the person’s name and place of residence,

Density requirements

GoCo will continue to adhere to the 1 person per 4 square metres of space rule in indoor areas. For the parts of the premises that are outdoor areas—1 person per 2 square metres of space will be allowed. GoCo will not allow more than 20 persons to attend a group class or other group activity. In the event of GoCo hosting outdoor events coming into the warmer weather, participants will be required to show their evidence of vaccination, and to check in to the event.
